Earthy Surf was created to empower women who live for that salty, sun kissed feeling and to support this beautiful planet we call home. A conscious swimwear label created for active women, by women. We want suits that stay on, look good, and feel great - so we made them. For you. For us. For everything sunny. 

 

Hi! I'm Natalie, founder of Earthy Surf. 

I was raised in sunny Southern California where sunshine and time outside were our daily multivitamins. I was little when I first hopped on a surfboard on a family trip to Hawaii. But since I was a competitive gymnast growing up, it wasn't until college that surfing really started to become a bigger part of my life. 

Now, living on North Shore, Oahu with my husband, surfing, time at the beach, and anything ocean related is what we live for (amongst yoga, hiking, camping ... really anything that involves being outside and moving our bodies). The more time I spend surfing and playing in the waves, the more I learn which aspects of swimwear I love... and which I definitely do not. *i.e. Hair getting caught in metal strap adjusters, top un-hooking, bottoms pulled off by waves, triangle top no longer... you get the picture. And maybe you can relate!

I had visions of one day starting my own brand to address all those pesky swimsuit fails. I even had a go at sewing my own suits for fun back in 2015. For my first time really using a sewing machine, they turned out pretty good! A few years later, the vision came back. This time, I knew there was a whole other issue to address. Sustainability.

Microplastics in the ocean, suits falling apart after one season and then ending up in a landfill, excessive plastic packaging and labels, unethical factories and suppliers ... it's so sad. While there is no such thing as a "perfect" sustainable solution, there's a lot we can do to create a positive impact and a lighter footprint. Overall, my vision for you is that you love your suit as much as you love your time outdoors - as much as you love your body, as much as you love your planet.
That you feel empowered knowing where and how your suit was made.
That you get excited every time you wear your suit because it just fits and feels THAT good.
And that you continue to do MORE of what lights you up. Keep spreading that light.
